Teme Leisure is registered under the name of South Shropshire Leisure Limited (SSLL) and is a 'not for profit' organisation. Any 'profits' generated will be reinvested back into the business to improve service provision and ultimately benefit the community in arts and leisure service provision.
Teme Leisure was founded on the 1st April 2004 when it took over the operational management of South Shropshire Leisure Centre, now known as Teme Ludlow, from the former South South Shropshire District Council. In April 2008 Teme Leisure added Cleobury Mortimer Sports Centre to its portfolio with SpArC at Bishops Castle being the next to follow a year later in 2009, and more recently in 2010 the new facilities at Church Stretton on the 17th April and Wem Swimming & Fitness Centre in July.
