Our Gym Sessions can be found below. Concerned about coming back? Here are a few questions/concerns we have been hearing.

*Pre-Booking is putting you off as you aren't sure when you can make it*
Pre-booking is required at the moment but dont let that put you off. This is just to ensure we control numbers in each area and record visits for Government track and trace. There are always plenty of spaces and booking can always be done just before you leave home if its a spur of the moment decision either quickly online or over the phone.

*Before Covid-19 users were 'casual' about cleaning equipment*
All our users have been excellent and everyone has respected the rules by cleaning before and after use. We know this as there is a member of staff present in each workout area to ensure this is taking place. They also continuously clean each area as well as ensure social distancing is being observed.

Hopefully, this puts your mind at rest, come down and see for yourself. If you have any concerns or questions about coming back please do get in touch.

What is lane swimming?

Lane swimming will take place with 3 large width lanes to ensure social distancing can be observed. The 3 lanes will be varying abilities of Fast, Medium speed and Slow Speed. Lifeguards may ask you to locate to a different lane during your swim to ensure all swimmers are spaced out accordingly and to minimise hold ups and lane congestion. Please do not be offended if you are asked to swap to a different lane. It is for the safety and enjoyment of yourself and other swimmers.

Lane capacity will be a limited, and therefore, pre-booking is essential. These sessions will be for adults or competent swimmers of 8 years or older who must be able to swim 200m (8 lengths) continuously.

A lane session is £5 for Teme Community Card Holders or Free for Teme Leisure Members.

Each Lane session is a total of 1 hour long. This includes time for changing after. We will allow entry 10mins before the session time and swimmers will enter the pool at the time they booked for. Lifeguards will blow a whistle to indicate closure of the pool after 55minutes. All swimmers must leave the pool at this time and proceed to the changing rooms to change. We operate these strict times to allow for a clean down of all areas ready for the next swim session. Swimmers are asked to change and dry as swiftly and safely as possible.

What is the process for a lane swimming session?

When attending a Lane Swimming session, we have put together this list of steps so that you know what to expect at your first session.

  1. Please do not arrive more than 10minutes before your booked session.

  2. On entering the centre you will be greeted by a member of staff who will ask you to quickly check your temperature before entering.

  3. Proceed to sanitise your hands and follow the floor markings to the self-service kiosk where you require your Teme Card to check in for your session. A member of staff will again be on hand to help with this.

  4. Proceed to the Swimming Pool changing area where you will be allocated a cubicle to quickly change. We are asking all swimmers to come beach ready. This means coming with your swimsuit underneath your clothes and have showered at home beforehand.

  5. Within your allocated cubicle you will find a clear tub. Your clothes and belongings can remain in the cubicle, any valuables can be placed in the clear tub and be taken onto poolside with you. We do ask you to please keep valuables to a minimum. We cannot take responsibility for any valuables left.

  6. A member of staff will direct you onto poolside where you will get ready for your swim and choose your lane. Fast, Medium and Slow.

  7. All lanes are double width to allow for social distancing whilst swimming. It is essential that swimmers observe social guidance in and around poolside.

  8. There will be a one-way system on poolside with dedicated entry points for each lane. This is to avoid overcrowding at the same exits and to reduce contact points around the pool. Staff and signage will advise where to enter the water.

  9. The steps in the shallow end are available as an alternative exit for those who need them.

  10. Please do not enter the water until instructed to do so.

  11. All lanes will have a one-way swimming system in place with each lane swimming anti-clockwise ensure swimmers are not moving alongside each other for a prolonged period.

  12. Where possible, keep moving whilst in the lane. If you need to stop in between lengths, please keep yourself to the corner of a lane so that other swimmers can easily turn.

  13. Overtaking is permitted however we do ask it is done in a safe manner.

  14. No butterfly is allowed.

  15. When finishing your swim, exit from the dedicated exit point for your lane.

  16. Poolside showers are available

  17. Then, make your way to your cubicle, where we ask you to dry off and change quickly. We require all swimmers to have vacated the changing rooms within the hour of entering. This allows us time to clean down the poolside and changing area in time for the next swim slot.

  18. When ready to leave, swimming tubs can be left in your cubicle.

  19. Follow the exit signs within the changing rooms where you will find the exit located through the Spa. Please use hand sanitiser as you leave.

  20. Changing rooms will be cleaned in between sessions.

Please note Teme Leisure admissions policy still applies. Children under the age of 4yrs old must be accompanied by an adult on a 1 to 1 basis. Children aged 4-7yrs must be accompanied on a 2 child to 1 adult basis. Adults are 16yrs+

  • “One-way” directional signs to help you move around and maintain social distancing.

  • Upon entry to your workout area you will collect your own Sanitise Spray Bottle to take around with you during your workout. Use this to wipe equipment and machines before and after use. On the way out simply pop the spray bottle in the area provided for staff to then clean down ready for the next user.
  • Social distancing measures will be part and parcel of your visit.
  • A cashless payment process will be in place. As all visits require to be pre booked they also require to be pre paid either online or over the phone

Hand Cleaning

Use the hand sanitizer stations upon entering and you can find multiple dispensers around the centre to use before during and after your session. We’ll be routinely cleaning equipment but please do clean down any equipment you use after you’ve used it. Extra hygiene stations will be available.

How will you ensure social distancing is in place across the Leisure Centres?

We are asking everyone to pre book which means we can maintain the numbers in the building to numbers which ensure everyone can socially distance. We’ve also staggered the start and finish times of activities to control arrival, numbers and circulation of customers throughout our buildings.

  • We’ve moved kit to create space to allow you the space you need to work out safely and also marked some machines out of use.
  • We've reduced exercise class numbers to allow social distancing and introduced heightened hygiene regimes, plus additional hand sanitisers and sanitise stations, if people want to clean any kit themselves. All Class users will be allocated a safe distanced space to workout during each class
  • We will have a member of staff in all areas at all times ensuring social distancing is adhered to while also continually cleaning equipment.

How will you ensure the Leisure Centres are clean?

We’ve introduced tougher, more robust procedures covering the cleaning of the Leisure Centres in-line with Covid-19 and industry guidelines.

We have programmed 2 deep clean sessions per day for all areas and also 15mins between each session.

Cleaning of high traffic areas and touch points will be continuous throughout the day, this is supported by cleaning stations within all areas, that members can use to clean equipment. Each user will collect their own Sanitise Spray bottle to use throughout their session. This will be placed in the drop off box at the exit where staff will wipe down and have ready for another session

Will there be changing facilities available?

We are asking our customers to come to the centre ready for their activity whereever possible but Changing rooms and showers are available but a limitednumebr in each area. Toilets will be available, there will be a one way system to access these.

Will lockers be available?

Lockers will not be available for the time being.

Is the Sports Hall Available for Bookings?

Ys our sports halls are avialble for badminton bookings.

How do I book a programme review with an instructor?

Contact your local centre or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to arrange

Will the drinking fountains be available within the gym?

Members are encouraged to bring their own water bottle into the centre. The water fountains will initially be isolated. We will continuously review this in-line with industry guidance.

Should I wear a face covering or mask when I visit?

Face covering sare required in all areas of our centres however World Health Organisation do advise against wearing masks whilst working out but this is completely the users choice.

Will The Spa be open?

Initially sauna and steam facilities will remain closed. We will continually review this position in line with industry guidance. We hope to reopen this in Summer 2021

The feedback we have recieved has been lovely to read.

Anyone feeling nervous about returning, give these a read. Your safety is our top priority and the centre at Teme Ludlow really is looking the best it ever has.

The gym areas have plenty of space, and we are seeing these areas very quiet so if you are concerned about the initial reopening 'rush' please don't be.

Don't take our word for it, come and see for yourself from this video and these comments
